Alexa Gilbert
Analyst
Prior to joining Back Bay full-time, Alexa was a Summer Analyst with the firm in 2024. She has also held internship positions at Tessera Therapeutics, supporting their program management and corporate strategy groups, and at Xilio Therapeutics, where she worked across the Protease Biology, Business Development, and New Product Planning teams.
Alexa’s research experience includes work in the Van Deventer Lab at Tufts University, where she investigated the effects of noncanonical amino acid incorporation on antibody specificity and efficiency, and in the Wolfe Lab, where she studied the stability of evolved phenotypic traits in fungal species derived from the cheese rind microbiome.
Alexa graduated Summa cum laude from Tufts University with a B.S./M.S. in Biology in 2025.
